meet lacey.

We are almost through the original 10 CCC'ers... but don't worry, we will share bios of our new cocktailers, and maybe throw in a few surprise bios as well!

Meet Lacey!

Q. How old do people think you look?
A. Older than 21, since I rarely get carded anymore…but I’m sure younger than I actually am. Surely.

Q. Where were you born?
A.  Jackson, Michigan

Q. Are you waiting for something?
A. Crab Island season to begin!

Q. What’s one pet peeve of yours?
A. When people don’t hit “reply all” on their emails. Thanks, now I have to become a mailman and deliver to everyone else.

Q. What do you do?
A. Attorney, doing mainly corporate litigation.  My desire to be a lawyer began in 4th grade when I successfully prosecuted my best friend's bully (who also happened to be an ex of mine). Revenge is sweet!

Q. What is your favorite cocktail?
A. Dirrrrty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, or a great mojito or caprihina. The last two are hard to come by.

Q. What was the last thing you drank?
A. Non-alcoholic: Water. Alcoholic: Vodka and water (see the subtle change?)

Q. What is your favorite dining/drinking establishment?
A. Harbor Docks for the sushi and the entertainment on the Deck!

Q. What is the first thing you look for in a male?
A. Physically: Nice smile, good hair. Personality-wise: Wittiness and ability to carry on an intelligent conversation.

Q. What CD is in your cd player right now/ song on ipod?
A. The Mirror Conspiracy by Thievery Corporation, although my go-to station on Pandora as been "Salt n' Pepa" lately.

Q.If you could have something right now, anything, what would it be?
A. Unlimited funds and free time to gather up everyone important to me and endlessly travel the world.  A higher metabolism would be great too.

Q. Where do you want to go on vacation?
A. Southeast Asia, Greece, anywhere tropical with a beautiful beach.

Q. What can’t you wait for?
A. I'm a pretty patient person, but I'm excited to celebrate Cameron's birthday tonight at Harbor Docks!

Q. What is your biggest regret?
A. I only regret things I didn’t do….so I’m trying to learn from that. A big one is that I wish I studied in Spain for longer than I did.

A. About a year ago. I don’t know if that’s good or bad?

Q. What is your favorite thing to eat with peanut butter?

Q. At what age did you consider yourself an “adult”?
A. My presents still go under the 'kids' tree at Christmas, so not yet.

Q. What was the best/worst gift you ever rec’d?
A. Ugh, this is hard. I also have a terrible memory.  I would say the worst is some sappy romance DVD from a boyfriend...then he told me it was because it was the first movie we saw together. Soooo, then I felt like an insensitive jerk. We broke up shortly thereafter. haha! Best would probably be a scrapbook from my best friend, Paige, summing up my life through my senior year in high school.

Q. What was the best party you’ve ever been to?
A. Any Party Bus thrown with Candice back in Ann Arbor.

Q. Have you ever broken a bone?
A. Not my own...

Q. Would you go on Dancing with the Stars?
A. Absolutely, Spider Monkey Backbend would capture the Mirror Ball Trophy for sure!

Q. If your life had a sound track, what would be the opening and closing song?
A. Opening: Baby Got Back - Sir Mix-A-lot (Hey, I weighed nearly10lbs at birth) Closing: My Way - Frank Sinatra (hopefully that would be accurate)

Q. What do eat on your pizza?
A. Everything. My fave combo is chicken, artichokes, black olives, and feta.

Q. Do people ever mistake you for someone else?
A. Yes, Acie. ALL THE TIME.  Even when I'm not blonde like she is!

Q. From start to finish, how long does it take you to get ready to go out with the CCC?
A. About an hour, maybe a little less if the first outfit is a winner (which rarely happens).

Q. Who in the CCC have you known the longest?
A. Candice, back to the good ole law school days in Ann Arbor.

Q. What is something that we all should know about you?
A. I grew up on my grandparent’s dairy farm in a far away, frozen land called Michigan. Oh, and I read my horoscope every day, and usually make important life-decisions based on what it says.

Fill in the Blank: The CCC is a crazy conglomeration of beautiful and intelligent women who will fill up your social calendar in the blink of an eye; not to mention every bartender's dream!
Need to catch up?
Meet the previous CCC'ers.

february 22 is national margarita day!

So we've been a little busy and are a little behind, but better late than never- right??
February 22, or more properly known as NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY just happened to follow FAT TUESDAY this year, so we had an eventful week to say the least!
Fat Tuesday was celebrated with beads, daiquiris, masks, and parades at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin!
National Margarita day was celebrated at one of our faves, La Paz in Destin.
Though we come here all of the time and love it, we felt necessary to do a critique for everyone and anyone who may want to join us one day!!
This was an all girl event and about 10 of us showed. We ate, drank, and were very much merry!

Since it was National Margarita Day and such, we expected it to be crowded and to have to down margaritas while waiting for a table, so we did what any experienced party would do... made reservations! However, everyone else must've heard that we were going to be there and ran away. Which is okay with us! So the ambiance was a little empty, but A-OKAY with the CCC.
Not sure how we lucked out on the fact that this nationally recognized holiday, just happened to fall on 2 for 1 margarita day at La Paz, (which happens weekly on Wednesdays) but the stars just had to have been on our side! Russ, the bartender for the evening, also just happens to sling the best margaritas in town. Double Jackpot!!!

The food was fabulous as usual. It's delicious, fresh, and we will keep coming back for more!

The fare at La Paz is very fair for all of the food you get! Plus, we could probably eat a million dollars worth of chips and salsa.
We all think Russ, our bartender/server for the evening, is the cutest thing ever, but is considered the boy next door to some of us.... however a few of us thought he should have left his number on the back of the check and we weren't even mad that he had to kick us out at 10:30! (It was probably for the best...)

SHOCKER! We were the most attractive people in the place... who would have thought?!?
The service was all around great, which can be expected from La Paz! We've never had a bad experience there.

La Paz doesn't really have a view, but is centrally located to everyone and has a great looking parking lot full of pretty palm trees!

La Paz has a pretty standard ladies room. Mirror, sink, potty. However, not one of us mentioned that the lighting was terrible... so that is a very good thing!

Since we pretty much owned La Paz on this hump/margarita day; the parking lot was allllll ours!

We love La Paz and will be back regardless of holiday, but you can betcha that we'll be there on Cinco De Mayo!! See you there! Adios!

Concerned about our critique?
Feel free to critique our methods.

Fill in the Blank: The CCC is my heart.

Do you miss us? You can still obsessively read about us here:

the CCC invades tiff's house.

So we are poor! Even with specials and hook ups, the CCC ends up being an expensive hobby. Therefore, we took a vote, and decided that we will have a "Poor Girl's CCC" once and month, and a different CCCer will host.

Our first official house party was hosted by Tiffany. Everyone brought a dish, a bottle of wine, and enough stories to fill up a novel or 12. Unfortunately, we did not get drunk, naked, or pillow fight, but it was still a good time! We had planned on a game night, but when you get us and wine together, the talking is never ending.
The night was casual, laid back, and perfect. This will definitely become a monthly activity, and we already have the next few months planned! Stay tuned!

Since this was our first poor meeting, pretty much anything and everything went. We put a dent into a Stouffer's party sized lasagna (we are so domestic sometimes), Lindsay made her famous dip, and along with a few other dips, salads, brownies, cakes and goodies.

We ate, drank, and were very merry! Cheers!

happy day!

We just want to give a big birthday shout out to the original CCC creator and Momo's momma, Linda!!
Happy Happy Birthday Linda! We love you and hope that all of your birthday wishes come true!!
Cheers!

Miss us?
Get your fix here:

a fondue restaurant.

We went bowling last week, but only a few of the "voting" members of the CCC were present and we apologize, but there will not be a post on Hurricane Lanes this time. There weren't any drink specials or food... just a ton of fun!! We will be sure to let you know the next time we go bowling so y'all can join in on the fun!

So The Melting Pot of Destin hosts a "Ladies Night Out" the last Tuesday of every month. For January, they hosted their night out with the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle

The CCC with a few of the Girl Scouts. They were extremely excited about our giant cookie order, and when we wanted a picture with them, they exclaimed "it's like we are Mickey at Disney World and people want to take pictures with us!"
Just too darn cute.

The Melting Pot created different fondues based off of the cookies including "Samoa" and "Thin Mint" chocolate options for dessert- YUM!

The Girl Scouts were also present selling cookies, and we ordered enough to last us a year... or two.

With the cookies, vendors, giveaways, delicious (not to mention fun) food, and did we mention COOKIES? We had one of the best nights together as the CCC and want to thank The Melting Pot for hosting such a great event and putting up with us!!

Did we mention the THIN MINT MARTINI??

This is what else we had to say:

We couldn't have asked for better ambiance. It was arranged that we could all sit at one long table, which was perfect... but loud, since we had to yell across the table to talk to each other (not that we aren't usually yelling anyway). Our apologies to people around us...
We were able to share 3 pots which allowed to to try all of the amazing fondue options.

The drink specials were great for our different tastes. You see, some of us like wine, some of us like vodka, and some of us like anything that comes in a fancy glass. House red and white wine was $5, and you could "create your own martini" with a number of different flavored vodkas for $6.
A couple of us veered from the drink specials for "ol' faithful"... the dirty martini. The bartender hand stuffed bleu cheese olives and it was ohhhhhhhhhh, so good!!
We'll have another.

The food was delicious (and again- fun!!), although a few of us were thrown off by the meat being served as raw... we just threw it in the pot and ate it anyway! The endless supply of veggies, fruit, etc. to dip was perfect for all of our forks, and the numerous sauces just took the flavors to the next level! Can we drink the Mojo?

The special of the night included salad, cheese, and chocolate courses for $25 a lady, plus $9 if you wanted protein that included chicken and NY strip. While the special seemed fair, it definitely added up. In the end, we felt that the prices were a little steep, but came to the conclusion that it was more about the experience. We just can't argue that the memories and conversations of that night were PRICELESS. (again, sorry to the people around us!)

Our waitstaff was probably one of the most fabulous teams (yes, we required a team) we've had in a while. There was a Tebow look-a -like (hottest server to date!), who we convinced to "Tebow" for us, a cute bus boy with a great sense of humor, and our server (Krista?), was awesome. We are not the easiest group to deal with and she handled us with flying colors. Also thank you to the staff that comes to the table to mix the fondues- they were amazing as well. Let's just say that we totally have an appreciation for Melting Pot servers!

We were the prettiest people there. Duh.

Again, the staff was just fabulous. We want to work with them, be their friends on facebook, but if they could hurry up with our drink refill... we would make our profile picture, a picture of us!

We really enjoyed the decor. The transformable booths were really cool, and we were glad that they were able to accommodate us. The green and white balloons for the Girl Scouts were a nice touch as well. So we took pictures.

The ladies room was great and passed our inspection. Plenty of toilet paper, nice individual paper hand towels, and while a little wet; we would still consider being "those girls" and taking pictures in here.
We would have hidden in there from Twin Tebow, but didn't want to because he was hilarious!

The biggest flaw of the night would have to be the parking. The parking lot was full and most of us had to park at the hotel next door and walk. It was fine, but we were all a little shaky about being towed. Luckily all of our vehicles were safe and sound when we finally decided to let the restaurant close. (Sorry if we kept y'all late!)

Again, our experience was fabulous and don't think we would have traded it just to save a few bucks. THANK YOU again to The Melting Pot for hosting such a great event, and especially for dealing with us and our shenanigans!
(WARNING: we'll be back...)
